A graduate of NSCAD, Lorena has had solo exhibitions in Vancouver, Ottawa, and Halifax and numerous group exhibitions with reviews such as: “Queen of Colour” and “Ziraldo's art is as gorgeous as it is mysterious, leaving the viewer wanting more”. 

“Emotion at some level, is the key element in my work.  A complete range of emotions - sometimes eliciting a smile is enough.

What I am after is to make someone stop and ponder - perhaps make their gut stir.  That is how I choose my subject matter; everything that follows is in hope of eliciting a response from the viewer.  

Formal qualities are key in my work, often it is the formal qualities that first draw me in.  I work with the space, colour, composition, lots of intuition ...  in order to achieve a balance between Beauty, Emotion, and Reality - I believe something beautiful can still be edgy.'
