Lori Bagnérès, a visual artist born in Guelph, Ontario, graduated from L’Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts de Grenoble, France receiving a D.N.S.E.P. (MA in Contemporary Art).  Lori currently pursues multiple creative interests as an artist, and art educator in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Her mixed media work, hovering somewhat between abstraction and representation, reveals texture, fragmented words, partial images and frayed forms. Her “nests on maps” series deals with the cyclical and ephemeral nature of creating a home - the nest symbolizing birth, love, family, gathering, leaving and starting over again. Through Lori’s findings, a new body of work is created and so the cycle continues.
